Ok, I pre-ordered Brutal Legend, got Brutal Legend the day it came out, played with the Tenacious D guitar, listened in amazement at the awesome soundtrack, stared at the stunning beauty of the metal-soaked land, laughed at the jokes. As much as there is to enjoy and watch in envy of the game, it's definatly not without it's flaws.
I, like always, am going to start out with the goods then move on to the bads...

Voice talents such as, Ozzy, Lita Ford, Rob Halford, Lemmy, and more
Comedian voices such as, Jack Black, Richard Horvitz, Kyle Gass, more

AMAZING landscape with plenty of metal objects such as guitar rock-formations, or a wall made of amplifiers and stereos, and more
Many upgrades and things to buy for your weapons and your car
If you think you have an "out-of-the-box" imagination, then prepared to be jealous 'cos Tim Schafer is not a man to be underestimated
Psychonauts fans are going to be delighted with the references
Music placement in the beginning half is very well-placed (Rock of Ages fits perfectly with the headbangers mission )


BADS:
Humor dries out for a while and turns into a more serious game
Chances are you aren't going to like at least a 1/4 of the music
If you don't like: Jack Black or Metal music then this isn't your game
A few glitches here and there
You won't get some of the humor if you're not a metal-head
Some people may get disturbed by the more freakier characters
The real-time-strategy moments are lazy and not enjoyable at all
Even though the game was originally supposed to be a multiplayer game does NOT mean you should slap some of the multiplayer elements into single-player in replace of what's supposed to be a boss battle...
Some of the dialogue gets very old fast and gets tedious ("Who are you ambushin'?" "Bad guys")
The side-missions get very old and annoying fast
Music placement gets random and lazy halfway through
Needs more variety in side-missions
Achievements may be a bit hard for some
Very disappointing ending
Replayability is suprisingly low

Ok, now that I've covered that, time for the story.

"During a gig for Kabbage Boy, one of its band members nearly falls off the set, but is caught by Eddie. However, a piece of the set falls and crushes Eddie, causing his blood to land on his cursed belt buckle, in reality an amulet for Ormagöden. Ormagöden awakens, kills the members of Kabbage Boy, and transports Eddie into a heavy metal and Nordic fantasy inspired alternate history where demons have enslaved humanity. Eddie comes to learn that the fantasy world was created by a race of ancient Titans who left numerous relics and instructions for the following generations behind for them to use to build upon, but neither humans nor demons could decipher their meanings. Only Eddie, due to his roadie skills, is able to make sense of their meanings and can put the Titans' wisdom to use. While Eddie is seen as the "chosen one", it is unclear whether he is the savior or the destroyer of the world.

Upon entering this strange new world of metal, Eddie meets Ophelia who helps him fight off Doviculus' troops, and the two begin to fall in love with each other. After constructing a car he calls the Druid Plow, aka the Deuce, and escaping the Temple of Ormagöden, Eddie soon meets Lars and the rest of the human resistance group. Lars enlists Eddie's help to free the male headbanger slaves, creating the basis of their fighting force, Ironheade, while Ophelia attempts to free the women from Lionwhyte's Pleasure Palace; though partially successful, she returns mortally wounded. Eddie is able to do a favor for the Kill Master who heals Ophelia's wounds and joins the resistance's cause. As Eddie leads Ironheade to defend against attacks from Lionwhyte, he is temporary transformed into a winged demon, though the effect always fades away; though Eddie plays it down, Ophelia admits she was worried this would occur. Lars and Eddie launch an attack on Lionwhyte's Palace, and are able to free the rest of the women while Lionwhyte is killed by falling debris. As Ironheade celebrates, Doviculus arrives, sending the group into hiding. Doviculus states he is aware of his spy "Succoria"'s presence, smelling her blood as it was at the Temple of Ormagöden, leading the group to believe that Ophelia is Succoria. Lars attempts to confront Doviculus, but Doviculus mortally wounds him before causing the Palace to fall into ruins and departing. Ironheade escapes, seeking refuge in the mountains to try to allow Lars to heal, Eddie leaving Ophelia to die despite the love he had shown her earlier, and breaking Ophelia's heart. Lars dies shortly after reaching Death's Clutch, despite the Kill Master's attempts.

Three months later, Ironheade is attacked by Doviculus' own forces, the Tainted Coil, but are saved by the Fire Baron and his gang. Lita finds Ophelia's mark on the soldiers, and believes her responsible for the attack. While fighting the "Drowned Doom" army at the Sea of Black Tears, Ophelia reveals herself, heartbroken and now transformed after swimming in the Sea, and she destroys the bridge leading to her cathedral. En route to finding materials, Eddie befriends Rima and her forces. Rima explains that Eddie's father, Riggnarok, was a legend of the past and had fought the Tainted Coil, but managed to have traveled to the future to discover the secrets of the Titans. With the bridge repaired and Ophelia's forces defeated, Eddie approaches her alone, but she insists she did not betray Ironheade. Doviculus arrives, and explains that Succoria is not Ophelia, but instead Eddie's mother, the former Emperor and whose blood runs in Eddie's veins. Doviculus carries out Succoria's plan, by tearing Ophelia's heart from her body and placing into his own, and then transforms the cathedral into a gigantic three-headed beast. Eddie manages to kill the beast and decapitate Doviculus, and recovers Ophelia's heart, which melts away to reveal the necklace that Eddie had given to Ophelia earlier. Leaving the fallen structure, he finds Ophelia, unconscious and back to her old self, and rescues her as they return to Ironheade.

After the battle, A monument to Lars is unveiled at Bladehenge, and Lita is hailed as a hero, with Eddie quietly working behind the curtains. After he promises he isn't leaving, Eddie takes off to complete a few more errands, with Ophelia watching as he drives off into the sunset, shedding a single black tear." - Wikipedia

Gameplay is very fun at the first half of the game...until you start playing the stage battles. I HAAAATE the stage battles. So retarded and pointless

I could go on for longer and go into WAY too much detail but I'm sure no one reads my reviews, and if your reading, you're probably getting bored by now so I'm gunna cut to the chase.

Overall it's a 8.2 (it would get a 9.6 if there were no fucking stage battles)
It's a buy if you're a: Jack Black, Heavy metal, Tim Schafer, or Psychonauts fan, but a rent if you're not.
